The majority of customers are associated with process industry, like power generation as well as the chemical , petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry. That is why the strategic reorientation of WVIS aims towards the rapidly changing conditions and market requirements in Germany.

Dr. Lothar Meier, Chairman of the Board of Directors of WVIS, identifies the objectives of the strategy process, which simultaneously prepares the reorientation: “Within the association, members expect better integration and an intensified exchange of experience at the technical level, especially regarding digital service solutions and new service models. In addition, the industrial service needs solutions for the increasing fraud from demographic trend such as the skills shortage and demands a broad standardization of services”

According to Dr. Meier, the external communication has to establish WVIS as a solution provider but also strengthen the image of industrial service in society and politics. “We have to reposition WVIS and involve our members more closely. We need a more efficient network in Berlin and Brussels in order to be able to better address the concerns as well as the solution offerings to political decision-makers. ”

The new Managing Director of WVIS accepts the challenging task with great enthusiasm. “I am very confident that, based on the extensive expertise of our members, we will be able to establish and make WVIS more visible, both internally and externally, as a competent and innovative solution provider in the service of current topics like climate protection, future technologies or digitization.”

Dr. Eckert has been active in Berlin and Brussels for more than 20 years for various companies in plant construction and energy technology. The doctor of law has an established and excellent network in politics, industry, associations and administration. For many years he is present at industry events of BDI, VDMA, VGB or FDBR.

For WVIS CEO Dr. Meier it has been an ideal cast to win Dr. Eckert: “We are glad that we recruited a proven industry expert with great reputation as managing director for WVIS and see the strategy process on a good path.”
